Respiratory self-management at your fingertips
Khan Innovations is bringing forth an accessible and simplistic approach for COPD patients to manage and learn about their respiratory illnesses.
We understand that COPD can be a hurdle in the most crucial moments of life, and we want to make it simple for patients to maintain their condition from anywhere at any time.

About iCOPeD
Khan Innovations is bringing forth an accessible and simplistic approach for COPD patients to manage and learn about their respiratory illnesses. As we talked to healthcare professionals locally and online, we discovered a lack of telehealth opportunities and lifestyle management tools for these patients, from a local and worldwide perspective.
iCOPed includes communicative, lifestyle, psychotherapy, and predictive modeling solutions for the first time to address the gaps we uncovered during our discussions with healthcare professionals.

To add, users can communicate with their doctor or “iCOPeD coach” on multiple communication pathways, with disability compliance.
Features
Education
When it comes to treatments, management, or any updates, patients are often uninformed beyond the doctor’s information To give patients a sense of confidence, we integrated an API database. This seamlessly provide evidence-based health information for all respiratory conditions. Featured articles on the latest news for respiratory ailments, as well as a search bar for specific inquiries, can be used at the user’s disposal.
Lifestyle
Many patients abstain from physical activity in the means of avoiding a flare-up. In truth, maintaining an exercise routine is imperative to successful management. iCOPeD features an exercise calculator that helps users to measure the optimal amount of exercise based on their condition’s severity, duration, and physical state, which include BMI, age, and sex. As another imperative aspect of lifestyle, one’s diet should be devoid of foods that could provoke an allergic reaction. Such foods could also exacerbate symptoms on the side. This feature allows users to review personal food allergies and get an in-depth understanding of the foods or ingredients to avoid exacerbations
Environmental Concern
Refraining from places with relatively high air pollution or smoke is also a major aspect in reducing the chances of flare-ups. iCOPeD introduces a simpler way to review and monitor the weather forecast and predictions for the week, as well as pollutant and pollen levels. Utilizing a weather & air condition API and machine learning model, users can easily determine the severity of the pollution levels based on a user’s condition.
Reminders
Overall, the exacerbation factors within respiratory illnesses can be overwhelming to keep surveillance of. iCOPeD offers weekly updates and reports on conditions and recommendations, as well as medication and symptom storage. Our app also features a reminder system that sends notifications to ensure the patient is aware of medication dosages and types. This system can store any medication, including those that are not respiratory-related. Adherence is essential to the patient’s success in management.
Getting Help
Getting an appointment with a pulmonologist is not always feasible, especially in urgent times. Our app features the “iCOPeD coach”, a healthcare provider who can be contacted via phone or message. They can respond promptly to questions. If users would like to speak with their doctor but are unable to reach the office, iCOPeD offers another approach. Through similar forms of contact, the doctor is at a user’s fingertips. They will also receive a user’s weekly reports and can further suggest alterations to their habits to make management more efficient.
